Two-Thousand and Six.

As is par for the course with every new year's eve, I can't believe that it's the end of yet another year.

As is par for the course with this blog, it's once again been far, far too long since I've posted an update.

New Year's Eve 2006 is turning out to be an absolutely wonderful do-nothing day. So far, among my list of accomplishments for the day, I've managed to:

  • Brew a perfect pot of coffee (easy to do when you have the perfect coffee maker)
  • Order a bunch of storage jars and assorted sundries we need for the kitchen
  • Dishes.
  • Wish a happy new year to a few friends who happen to be online
  • Watch most of Ghostbusters (though, yeah, admittedly, it was a watered-down TV version on Comedy Central)
  • Dishes, again. And the coffee maker.
  • Watch the Komyo ga Tsuji highlights (broadcasted in Japanese from NHK), but only up to the point in the series that we've actually watched up to so far, of course.
  • And now, watching my favorite comedic curmudgeon on Curb Your Enthusiasm

Somewhere before watching Ghostbusters there, my wife also cooked up a fabulous lunch with some fried noodles, shrimp, garlic, mushrooms, bokchoy, and the mysterious Malaysian spicy mixture that's among my father-in-law's vast repertoire of culinary goodness.

It's been such an auspicious year.
Needless to say, I'm absolutely elated spending my first holiday season as a very happily married man with my wife.
December 27 also turned out to be an auspicious date as my cousin and his wife had their daughter, their second baby, and another couple we know also had a son, their first baby.
My other cousin and his wife also had a son, their first baby, in November, right around Thanksgiving.
And of course, we had all those other weddings that we attended throughout the year that were all wonderful celebrations.
Overall, it's just been a very happy, very good year.

Happy New Year Everyone!
