Wynn in Vegas!
As another part of the continuing celebration of my recent thirtieth birthday, my wife surprised me with a trip to LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!!.
I'm admittedly a little bit of a junkie for the blackjack tables.
(This is the part where I breathe, and repeat, I do not have a problem. I do NOT have a problem. Really!
This was my first time back in Las Vegas in about two or three years, and my first time staying in the brand-new Wynn Resort. (Again, all setup by my loving wife - and it was all so absolutely amazing).
The Wynn is what you think of as a world-class resort. Aside from the cheesy typical over-the-top ness of the place that's just part of the essential Las Vegas character, the service, food, and accomodations are near unparalleled. What probably impressed me the most was that the quality of the food was matched only by its authenticity - it wasn't just about the awesome buffet (the unending shrimp cocktail, crab legs, prime rib, lamb chops, and desserts), but to our amazement we found all the typical japanese and chinese staples (pickled vegetables, salmon, congee, and dim sum)
Of course, we also made the essential trip to Bouchon while we were there. Thomas Keller is an undeniable genius.
It was such an awesomely relaxing experience, we'll definitely be staying at the Wynn again soon...
